Noel Colon
Noel was born and raised in New Jersey. He began as a mobile DJ at age 16 in 1979 in New Jersey playing at house parties, birthdays, local clubs, weddings, and The Puerto Rican Parade in Paterson NJ. The popular format at the time was Salsa & Disco. He played both Hustle & Salsa in New Jersey at a club called El Salsero Night Club and played Classic Disco in Garfield New Jersey for the after-hour party at the Cameo. Noel’s 1st passion was classic disco then came Salsa, Freestyle, House and more.
Noel was inspired to learn to hustle at an early age of 13 years old in 1977 when Saturday Night Fever came out. He then learned to dance hustle with friends when going out to popular hustle hot spots in New Jersey & New York observing dancers and learning how to dance in the streets. Back then didn’t know anyone who was teaching at the time.
Noel had to stop Deejaying for a while in 1981, when he loaned out his equipment and records to a friend to DJ and event at a popular club called 203 where his friend left his equipment overnight and was stolen. While still attending school, he had to save money to recoup but life changed when his high school sweetheart got pregnant, and Noel had to put things on hold to become a parent early at 18 years old.
Fast forward, Noel moved to South Florida in 1990 for a better life for his wife & child. After settling in for a few years and finding there were no good DJ’s that compared to NY for the music that was suitable for hustle dancing he was accustomed to, he then started to get back into Deejaying.
His passion for music spreads through multiple genres which is what makes him sought after for many events. Overall Noel is not only a DJ but also a dancer. His philosophy is that a DJ is only as good as the people that are dancing to his music.
While living in Florida, Noel played at The Palladium Night Club in Margate, The Gold Coast Ballroom, South Florida Swing Dance Society and has performed at many top events including IHSC (International Hustle & Salsa Competition), Disco America in Philadelphia, Millenium Ballroom & The Delray Ballroom.
You can often find Noel entertaining Socials in Hustle, Latin & West Coast Swing throughout South Florida.
Noel is currently the owner of All Events DJ Services, a mobile DJ & Entertainment company serving South Florida. He performs at many Weddings, Dance Socials & Corporate Events.
